GaAs monolithic-microwave-integrated-circuits (MMIC) designed by Abdullah Atalar’s students in early 1990’s using Cadence environment, with financial support from NATO Science for Stability program. They were manufactured by GEC-Marconi and delivered in chip form. These are the first MMIC chips of Turkey with functions such as distributed amplifiers, switches and oscillators. Sanlı Ergun, Mehmet Özgür and Ferit Öztürk were the senior undergraduate and graduate students involved in these projects.
