Bio

Prof. Dr. Şule Taşlı Pektaş graduated with honours from Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1997. She received her MFA and PhD degrees from Bilkent University as top of her class. She was granted fellowship in the Cambridge Engineering Design Centre at the University of Cambridge, UK where she conducted studies on design process modelling. She worked as a faculty member at Bilkent University for twenty years, first in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and then in the Department of Architecture. During this period, she was actively involved in the development of new undergraduate and graduate programs of Architecture.

Prof. Pektaş’s research interests are design computing, human-computer interaction and design education. She has published extensively in these fields and served as a consultant and/or external reviewer for several national and international scientific organizations including REPRISE (Register of Expert Peer-Reviewers for Italian Scientific Evaluation), FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (The National Research Funding Agency of Portugal), TÜBİTAK, eCAADe (Association of Education and Research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe), CAAD Futures Foundation and MSTAS (The National Computational Design in Architecture Board). Prof. Pektaş is an editorial board member for the International Journal of Technology and Design Education (ISI Science Citation Index), Open House International (ISI Social Sciences Citation Index) and an advisory board member for Journal of Computational Design (JCoDe).
