Description: Basic definitions of cyber security, overview of cyber threats. Cryptology, Symmetric/asymmetric cryptography, PKI, CA trust model, SSL/TLS (HTTPS, SFTP etc.). Network basics, overview of TCP/IP, network attacks, security of basic network services, cyber threat prevention mechanisms, network forensics. Overview of penetration testing methodologies and tools. Application security (including web application security). Overview of computer forensics. Malware Analysis. Mobile Security, introduction to mobile operating systems, mobile security concepts. Reverse engineering of android applications. Overview of information security management concept. Cyber security posture: The World and Turkey.

    • In order to get the bonus you are expected to send me an e-mail describing your bonus idea before the midterm exam. Example ideas are completing a CTF, analysing a malware, creating a report regarding the actual cyber threats (e.g. analysing a botnet). You are expected to create a report stating the details of your work.
